How To turn a Softie pattern into a Christmas Tree Ornament!

Let's make some super cute Christmas Tree Ornaments!!!   Now you can use any of my Christmas Patterns .. but also why not try some others .. like a cute fox or teddy!!  How darling!

ITH Use your 4x4 size

After you add all of your limbs etc & Before you add the back to your cutie ...

Tape a piece of folded ribbon - with the loop facing down towards your stuffies tummy and the raw end (sealed with either a light, fray check or in a knot) sticking up out of the top of the center of the head by about 1/2 inch.

Add the back of your Stuffie and Run your last Step.   Turn and ... ta-da!!

Sewing Patterns

For the larger ones (18 + inches) I would recommend reducing by 50% & adding a seam allowance.  For teh Sew Cute Stuffie range by around 70%  or less.

You can either whip stitch a loop of ric rac or ribbon to the back of your softies head (this way you can remove it if you want him to be a doll/pillow again next year)
Or
Place your front body/head fabric on the table right side up. Place the ribbon loop facing down towards your stuffies tummy and the raw end (sealed with either a light, fray check or in a knot) sticking up out of the top of the center of the head by about 1/2 inch.  Place the back of your doll fabric, right side down, over the front creating your sandwich.  Sew around the outside with your 1/4 seam allowance. Turn your softie. Ta da!  All done!

File Sharing is Wrong, Plain & Simple

Some days you just need a hug. Yesterday was a tough day. I found out that 6 members of my Facebook Doll Making Group have been sharing my original copyrighted designs sewing and embroidery patterns with others in a horrid free for all pattern sharing group. This was no accident, I have screen shots where they gleefully welcome each other to the group, I quote “Hi all, you know why we are here so share and enjoy.” - These woman actually set out to knowingly partake in this immoral behavior. I felt sick and utterly betrayed reading the thread.

I value my amazing customers and support them in every step of their doll making journey, from creating original designs, supporting cottage industry, providing free tutorials, providing daily support for questions and let’s not forget our wonderful online community in the Dolls And Daydreams Facebook Group …. so to find out that these women (who know who they are) have stolen from me, from my children, which let’s be frank, is exactly what they have done. Hurts me to the core.

I believe in integrity. I treat others how I wish to be treated. All of my designs are original, no clip art, no Disney knock offs. I spend days, weeks, and months designing, testing prototypes, and supplying my loyal customers with weekly pattern releases. This is no easy feat, I work tirelessly every day to provide all of my clients with the highest standard of design and pattern quality.

File Sharing is illegal behavior and is deemed as theft in the court of law … but it is so much more to me. It really takes the wind out of my creative sails and makes me wonder why .. when I hear my kids playing outside that I’m still working in my studio on the next pattern release … I am heartbroken.

Do these dishonest individuals not realize I will fight to protect my original creations? Do they not know that there will be consequences to their actions? After many discussions with my team we have decided to go public with this.

This behavior will not be tolerated by Dolls And Daydreams; these individuals have been banned from my group and from purchasing from my website and have been notified by my lawyer.

It is in my nature to give, to help and to foster creativity …… this kind of behavior really breaks my heart.

Dolly Dress Up Add-ons are Here!

I am excited to introduce my Dolly Dress Up Add-on! Dollies Like to Play Dress Up Too! Make your Kiddies and Dollies Matching Costumes with these fun easy PDF Sewing Patterns. Doll, Kids & Adult Sizes included, for family fun!

Doll Romper & Shoes pattern Sold Separately!

Already have one of my costume patterns, check your e-mail, if you brought it from www.DollsAndDaydreams.com you will have been sent an update!  Brought it on Etsy and want to make them dolly sized, here's what you will need:

The Romper Pattern
* The Toddler Sized Mask made up per instructions

* Print the Tail/Chest Plate/Arm Wings at 65% (or shrink it on a photo copier). Follow your Photo Tutorial to make up them up. Note: The Cat Tail I added an additional ¼ inch after shrinking otherwise it was very skinny ;)

* Make up your Romper and add a colored felt Patch to right side, center of front romper fabric for that added bit of cute!  For your patch you can pick any shape, I liked an oval (3.75 high by 2,75 inches wide) - but a cute circle (draw around the bottom of a cup) will be fab too!

And there you have it!!!!  Super cute costumes for your dolls & kids alike and just in time for Halloween!
